Both Deceased Students Named in the Providence Campus Attack as Police Continue Hunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who were killed in the weekend's tragic incident at Brown University had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their killer persisted following the discharge by authorities in Rhode Island of the only individual of interest in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.

Cook was vice-president of Brown’s branch of College Republicans of America, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also shared sympathies on social media, stating: “It's indescribable. Thinking of her family and friends, especially her parents.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, an Uzbek national in his first year of studies at the Ivy League university, family members said.

The victim's identification was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. His ambitions were lofty of becoming a neurosurgeon and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were hurt in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man detained in a search at a lodging about 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was being released.

“There is a killer at large,” declared Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last approximately one day.”

Community Anxiety

The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, admitted: “This will probably generate new worry for our public”.

The gunman began shooting inside a classroom in the engineering building on Saturday, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm handgun, a law enforcement official informed the Associated Press.

Law enforcement that searched the lodging found two handguns and magazines when the person of interest was detained, as was reported.

Those Hurt

Of the nine hurt, one pupil was allowed to go home, stated Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in grave but unchanging health, and another was critically ill, police said on Sunday.
